New London, CT (3/27/15)- The Utica College water polo team fell on the opening game of the CWPA regional, hosted by Connecticut College. Utica lost to Grove City College 13-8, Washington & Jefferson College 15-3, and Carthage College 14-2.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday for a pair of games. Utica will face Monmouth College at 11:30 a.m. before taking on Penn St.-Behrend at 7 p.m.
Utica 8, Grove City 13- Game One FinalSophomore
Cori Brouwer (Jenison, MI/Jenison) led the way for the Pioneers, as she posted a team-high four goals and two assists. Senior
Katie Snyder (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen) chipped in with two goals and one assist, while freshmen
Liz Schonhiutt (Nisayuna, NY/Thomas Worthington) and
Krystiana Rehrig (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) each had one goal and one assist.

Ali Templin (Sinking Springs, PA/Wilson) Made 11 saves in goal for Utica.
Utica 3, W&J 15- Game Two FinalThe nationally ranked No. 2 Washington & Jefferson Presidents held just a 3-1 lead after the first quarter, however they pulled away in the second stanza, outscoring Utica 6-0.
Cori Brouwer (Jenison, MI/Jenison) had a hand in all three Utica scores as she netted two goals and added an assist.
Krystiana Rehrig (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) scored the other Pioneer goal, while
Kaylie Ann Miyashita (Mililani, HI/Mililani) and
Liz Schonhiutt (Nisayuna, NY/Thomas Worthington) each had one assist.
Ali Templin (Sinking Springs, PA/Wilson) made seven saves in net for the Pioneers.
Utica 2, Carthage 14- Game Three Final Carthage shut out the Pioneers in the second half to claim the victory. Freshmen
Kaylie Ann Miyashita (Mililani, HI/Mililani) and
Krystiana Rehrig (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen) scored Utica's goals, while
Katie Snyder (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen) picked up one assist and
