Utica, NY (9/10/12)- Junior Caitlyn Smith of the Utica College women’s soccer team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
The Waterville, NY native had 14 saves as the Pioneers went 2-0 last week. She stopped three shots for her third straight shutout as Utica defeated SUNY IT 2-0, Wednesday. On Friday, Smith tallied a season-high 11 saves as UC beat Oswego State 2-1. She went 343:02 without allowing a goal, before Oswego broke the streak.
The Pioneers are currently 4-0 overall and have outscored opponents 9-1 so far. They return to action Saturday, as they host RPI for a non-conference match up. Kick off is scheduled for 12 p.m.
