Utica, N.Y (11/8/10) – Sophomore forward Meghan McMahon (St. Marks (MA)/Gardner, MA) of the Utica College women’s hockey team has been named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 7, 2010.

McMahon netted two goals and added one assist, as the Pioneers won their second and third straight games, and swept ECAC Women’s West Conference foe Buffalo State Friday and Saturday.  McMahon tallied the game-winner, with 1:05 to go in regulation, to lift the Pioneers’ to a 2-1 victory on Saturday.  She also added one goal and an assist in the Pioneers’ 3-1 win over the Bengals on Friday night.

She currently ranks second on the team with five points on three goals and two assists through three games this season.

UC (3-0, 2-0 ECAC West) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts conference rival RIT for a pivotal ECAC West game at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.  The puck is scheduled to drop at 4 p.m.
