Utica, NY (1-28-13) – Sophomore Nicole Schwartz, of the Utica College women’s hockey team, was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday for her efforts on the ice this past weekend.
Schwartz had a hand all three scores Sunday as the Pioneers completed the weekend, shutout sweep of Chatham University. She assisted on UC’s first tally at 6:04 in the first and then rattled off back-to-back goals en route to a 3-0 victory. On the season, she is now third in team scoring with 11 points on three scores and eight assists.
The Pioneers improve to 10-6-1 overall and 8-3-1 in the ECAC West. Chatham (1-14, 0-12 ECAC West) returns home to take on Potsdam State next weekend. The Pioneers return to action next Saturday as they travel to Plattsburgh for a series with the No. 1 ranked Cardinals. Saturday's game will be at 7 p.m. while Sunday's contest is at 3 p.m.
