Utica, NY (10/27/14) – Junior defensive end Nick Woodman of the Utica College football team was named the College’s Co-Male Athlete of the Week for his performance against Buffalo State this past Saturday.
 
Woodman had a highlight night, tying the school record with 3.0 sacks, and he also added seven tackles, one force fumble and one fumble recovery. Woodman forced a fumble and added two of his three sacks in the fourth quarter. He also recovered a fumble that led to the Pioneers’ game-sealing touchdown.
 
Woodman now ranks third all-time at Utica with 13.0 sacks and leads the Empire 8 with 8.5 sacks this season. His sack total this season ties the school’s single-season record.
 
The Pioneers (5-3) have a bye week this week.  They return to action Nov. 8th to take on Alfred University in UC’s final home game of the season. Kick off is scheduled for 1p.m.
