UTICA, NY- Utica College men's lacrosse junior Alex Finnegan was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week after tallying six goals and adding one assist as the Pioneers went 2-0 last week and extended its win streak to five games for the first time in program-history.

Finnegan posted a career-high four goals and added one assist in Utica’s 12-6 win over Oswego on Wednesday.  He came back with two goals in Utica’s 16-2 win over Canton on Saturday. Finnegan currently ranks second on the team with 16 points (eight goals/eight assists) this season.

Utica moved its record to 6-2 overall, marking their best record through eight games in program-history. Next on the schedule for the Pioneers are two games on the road, the first is at Nazareth College for an Empire 8 contest on Wednesday before traveling to New Jersey to play Richard Stockton on Saturday. Both games are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m
