UTICA, NY – Freshman Keanu Heedram of the men’s track and field team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week on Monday.
 
Heedram took home NYSCTC Rookie of the Year honors after he posted a personal best in the shot put and placed first with a toss of 15.68 meters. Heedram added a second place finish in the men's discus throw with a toss of 46.28 meters to earn 18 total team points for the Pioneers. 

Heedram currently ranks 28^th nationally in the discus after his toss of 47.54 meters at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic on April 30^th.  He also ranks 39^th on the outdoor national qualifying list in the shot put after his personal best throw of 15.69 meters on Saturday.

The Pioneers return to action Saturday May 14^th when they travel to St. John Fisher for the Cardinals Last Chance Meet.
