Jalen Lucero scored one of the most impactful goals in program history this past Wednesday during the Empire 8 Semifinals against #1 seeded Geneseo, flipping the match on its head with an 89th-minute equalizer to send the game to overtime. With just minutes remaining, Lucero found some space on the right side of the box and sent a rocket off the far post, which ricocheted off a Knight defender and into the net. Lucero’s score gave the Pioneers all the momentum heading into the extra period, and the junior attacker was a big part of the effort that saw the Pioneers outplay the hosts during regulation and overtime.
