UTICA, NY - The Utica University women's cross country team is set to travel to nearby Hamilton College for the Hamilton Short Course Invitational, hosted by Hamilton College. Start time on Saturday, September 13 is set for 11am.

Last Time Out: The team traveled across town to compete in the 2025 SUNY Poly Short Course Invitational. Pioneers filled out much of the top-10, with four Utica runners placing among the top. Despite the strong individual performances, Utica placed second of four as a team.
Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) was the first Pioneer across the finish line, recording a third place finish with a 17:06.8 time. Townsend completed the race just 7.1 seconds behind the 1st place runner, and 14.8 seconds ahead the runner behind her.
Catherine Manna (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) and
Maria Stuhlman (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) placed fifth and eighth, respectively, with finish times of 17:24.1 and 17:53.0.
Who's Else is Going: Seven other teams will be in attendance on Saturday, including the host, Hamilton, Houghton, Nazareth, Roberts Wesleyan, SUNY Cobleskill, St. John Fisher, and St. Lawrence.
About the Course: The Continentals host an invitational each fall on their home course, which has layouts that measure 5,000 or 6,000 meters for women's races and 8,000 meters for men's competition. The course recently underwent extensive renovations in conjunction with the construction of Hamilton's new baseball and softball facilities as well as a soccer practice field.
Last Fall at Hamilton: At the Hamilton Short Course Invitational last season, the Pioneers finished in fifth place out of eight teams in the 4,000m race.
Catherine Manna (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) was the first Pioneer that has returned this season to cross the finish line with a time of 15:46.1.
Marlo Townsend (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) followed with a time of 15:53.3.
Up Next: The team will travel to Rochester, NY to take on the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational. Start time on Saturday, September 20 is set for 10am.
