Bill Dundon enters his ninth season as head coach of the Utica College golf program. He is also entering his 16th year as the Head Program Analyst in the Integrated Information Technology Services department at UC where he offers over 30-years of experience in the field. Dundon started his career at Mohawk Valley Community College in 1985 before coming to Utica.
In eight seasons with the Pioneers, Coach Dundon has led UC to 16 top-five finishes including four first place tallies. This past season, Utica had a four-man average of 353 and struck its best round of 338 at the St. Lawrence Invite on Sept. 7, 2014. Dundon looks to have a solid upcoming season as he will guide eight upperclassmen including seven seniors in the 2015-2016 campaign.
The Pioneers wrapped up the 2013-2014 with a four-man average scorecard of 347. Over 14 rounds, it was good enough for an 87 average per player. The squad carded its best score of the season on April 26th in the first round of their final tournament at Nazareth striking a 333.
The 2012-2013 Pioneers posted a 337 in the opening round of the Empire 8 Championships, marking the team’s best start in recent years. UC opened up the season with its best score, a 329, as the host of the UC Fall Invitational. The Pioneers best rounds of the season included scores of 329, 337 and a second place card of 338 at the Houghton Invite.
In 2011-2012, he guided the Pioneers to fifth and seventh place finishes as the host of the UC Fall and Spring Invitational’s held at Kanon Valley Country Club in Oneida, NY. UC also had the privilege of hosting the Empire 8 Fall Golf Championships at the Yahnundasis Golf Country Club (Sept. 17-18) as Utica has locked in a two-year contract with the league as well as the course.
In 2010-2011, Dundon led the team to an early victory on Sept. 4 and a second place finish as the host of the UC Spring Invitational on Apr. 9. Throughout the 2010-2011 year, Utica shot better than 340, as a four-man team, in seven of 11 tournaments, good enough for an individual average of 85 per round.
In 2009-2010 he guided the Pioneers to two first place finishes and five second place finishes in 13 matches.
An avid golfer, Dundon is a member at nearby Skenandoah Country Club and currently resides in Utica, NY with his wife Dana.
