Danielle Cerminaro

Utica University Athletic Director Dave Fontaine recently announced the hiring of Danielle (McQueary) Cerminaro ‘05 as the first-ever Head Coach of the Utica women’s gymnastics program. Cerminaro will be in charge of all facets of the program including scouting, recruiting, meets and practice preparation, as well as day-to-day operations.

“I am pleased to welcome Danielle to the Pioneer athletic family,” said Fontaine. “Her extensive knowledge and experience in the world of gymnastics is exactly what we need to successfully begin our program at Utica. I am confident that she will be able to recruit women into our program that are academically and gymnastically talented, and quickly make Utica a respected and competitive team.”

With 40-plus years of gymnastics experience, Cerminaro has coached numerous Division I and Division III gymnasts while having owned and operated local Valley Gymnastics since August 2008. She also serves as the head of Section III gymnastics.

“I am excited to be back and help provide a collegiate gymnastic track for the school,” said Cerminaro. “I have always preferred the collegiate track over the elite track so this is a great opportunity for myself as well as the athletes.”

Previously, Cerminaro coached gymnastics at her alma mater, New Hartford High School.
