UTICA, NY (11/1/11)- Freshman Louise Steele-Norton (Millbrook School/Avondale, PA) of the Utica College field hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
Steele-Norton netted both goals in the Pioneers’ 2-0 win over St. John Fisher on Friday to secure the program’s first outright regular season conference title in its 11 year history.
Steele-Norton leads the conference in points (31), goals (15), and game-winning goals (four). UC is 10-2 when she scores.
The Pioneers are 11-7 overall and sit atop the Empire 8 with a 6-1 conference record. They will host the conference tournament this weekend as they take on Washington & Jefferson College at 10:30 a.m.
