Utica, NY (4-23-12) –Freshman Samantha Gebler, of the Utica College women’s lacrosse team, was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday.
Gebler recorded 11 points this past week as she aided UC to a perfect 3-0 record, including two big conference wins against Alfred and Elmira. She posted a career-best, four assists Wednesday as the Pioneers edged a 10-9 victory over Keuka College. The freshman standout then followed up with a five point performance against Alfred on Saturday, netting three goals and dishing out two assists
The Vestal, NY native moved into second place in team scoring as she now has 31 points on 16 goals and 15 assists while starting all 13 games in her freshman campaign.
UC is now 8-5 overall including a 3-3 mark in the Empire 8 Conference. The Pioneers return to action Saturday as they visit Ithaca College for its final conference contest of the season.
