Utica, NY (9/3/12)- Sophomore Hannah Mackey of the Utica College field hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday.
The Locke, NY native netted three of UC’s four goals, including both game winners as Utica went 2-0 on the weekend. On Saturday, Mackey scored two goals in the Pioneers’ 3-2 victory over the College of Wooster. On Sunday, she scored the lone goal as UC defeated St. Lawrence University 1-0.
The reigning Empire 8 Rookie of the Year has compiled 36 points (16 goals, four assists) in 20 games played.
The Pioneers (2-0) return to action Saturday, as they host Morrisville State (0-1). Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
