Utica University Athletics

Utica, NY (11/5/2012) – Junior forward Jon Gaffney, of the Utica College men’s hockey team, was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week Monday as he netted a hat-trick Saturday leading UC to a 7-2 win over Nazareth College.

Gaffney currently leads the Pioneers and is tied for second in the nation in scoring with nine points on four goals and five assists.  The Dover, NJ native has aided UC to a 3-0 record averaging 3.00 points per game.

The Pioneers hit the road this weekend for an ECAC West double header against rival Neumann University in Aston, PA.  Face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday night.
