Senior Michelle Allen of the Utica College women’s swim team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week Monday as she led UC to its first victory of the season.

Allen, who recently returned from injury, won both of her respected events as Utica downed Cazenovia College 159-123 at the UC Pool of Champions Saturday.  She took first in the 50 yard (26.89) and 200 yard freestyle (2:10.06) events as well as guiding the 200 yard medley relay team to a win.

UC is currently 1-5 overall this season and returns to action Saturday as it heads to Rochester, NY to challenge Rochester Institute of Technology.  The competition is set for 1 p.m.
