Utica, NY (12/10/12) –Junior Nick Therrien, of the nationally-ranked No. 9/10 Utica College men’s hockey team, was named the College’s Male Co-Athlete of the Week Monday for the week of December 10th, 2012.
Therrien stopped 29 shots Friday night as UC knocked off nationally-ranked No. 2 Oswego State, 3-2, on the road. He is currently 7-1 on the season ranking him seventh in the country in winning percentage (.875%). He has led UC to three straight wins while averaging 30 saves per contest.
So far this season, the UC net minder has a save percentage of .915 and a goals against average of 2.35, allowing just 18 scores on 193 shots in eight games.
The Pioneers currently hold a 9-2 overall record including a 3-2 ledger in the ECAC Men’s West Conference and are in third place with six points. UC returns to action after the Holiday break on Friday Jan. 4th, 2013 as it welcomes Salve Regina to the Aud for a 7 p.m. faceoff.
