Utica, NY (4-25-13) – Sophomore Andrew Hoover, of the Utica College men’s track and field teams was named the College’s Athlete of the Week Monday after being named Empire 8 Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Meet at the Championships last week.

Hoover placed first in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.91 en route to being named First-Team Empire 8 All-Conference.  He also placed fourth in the 110 meter hurdles. The Baldwinsville, NY native, currently ranks 23rd on the ECAC DIII Outdoor Performance List with a time of 55.93 recorded at the Coach P Open (4/12/13).

The Pioneers posted their best-finish in the program’s tenure as they collected 101 points placing second behind Ithaca College (183 points).
