Utica, NY (4-7-14) – Sophomore pitcher Joshua Webb, of the Utica College baseball team, was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week Monday for his impressive performance on the mound over the weekend.

Webb recorded a career-best 12 strikeouts Sunday despite losing 3-0 to nationally-ranked No. 22 St. John Fisher College at the Dugan Yard in Rochester, NY.  He fell to 0-2 on the season however leads the Pioneers in strikeouts (22) and is tied with senior Alec Choleva with a team-best 3.60 ERA (min 10 Innings).

The Pioneers are right back in action Monday against St. John Fisher in Utica, NY.  The Empire 8 Conference doubleheader is scheduled to start at 3 p.m.   UC is 3-7 overall including a 0-2 mark in league play.
