Utica, NY (10/13/14)- Senior Hannah Mackey of the Utica College field hockey team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday. Mackey was also named the Empire 8 Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row and fourth time this season.

Mackey tallied seven goals in three games last week en route to breaking the Conference’s single-season records for both goals and points. Mackey now has 28 goals and 61 points in 13 games this season.Â

The forward opened the week with four goals in Utica’s 6-1 win over Brockport on Wednesday. She followed that up with two goals to help lift the Pioneers over Ithaca, 3-2, in conference action Saturday. Mackey capped off her week with the opening goal in Utica’s 4-1 victory over Stevens on Sunday.Â

Mackey leads the nation with 2.15 goals and 4.69 points per game. Her average of 2.15 goals per game leads the entire NCAA (Division I, II, or III) in scoring. Mackey is also atop the conference in goals, points, and game winning goals (seven). She has scored 15 more goals than anyone else in the E8.Â

The Pioneers (12-1, 6-0 Empire 8) hold the nations top winning percentage at .923. They return to action Saturday as they travel to Washington, PA for an Empire 8 match up against Washington & Jefferson College. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
