UTICA, NY- Utica College junior triple jumper Sarah Wiatr was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week after holding a mark to qualify her for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.
Wiatr jumped 11.85m back on February 7th at the Dartmouth Indoor Classic to secure her a spot in the NCAA’s. She will enter Championships ranked fifth, just .13m behind the national leader. Not only does Wiatr hold the top mark on the team in the triple jump, she also holds the top mark in the long jump (5.35m), the 60m (8.27), the 200m (27.74), the 400m (1:00.90), the 4x200m (1:52.51) and the 4x400m (4:23.27).
The Poland, NY native is coming off an impressive victory at ECAC's this past Saturday leading the Pioneers to a 22nd place tally out of 60 teams. She collected 10 of Utica's 15 points with a jump of 11.68 meters leading the women to one of the best finishes at ECAC's in program history.
The NCAA Division III Indoor Championships are set for Friday Mar. 13th and Saturday Mar. 14th and will be hosted by Roanoke College and JDL Fast TRack.  Wiatr is slated to compete on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the women's triple jump.
