Senior Jerrod Beniquez of the Utica College football team was named the College’s Male Athlete of the Week for his star performance against Misericordia on Saturday. Beniquez finished the game with 260 all-purpose yards and one touchdown.

Beniquez returned three punts for 115 yards. He caught nine passes for 86 yards and he also rushed for 60 yards. After Saturday’s stellar performance, Beniquez is now 164 all purpose yards away from becoming the school’s all-time leader.

Beniquez is currently ranked first in punt return yards and all-purpose yards in the Empire 8 Conference. He is also ranked second in the nation, in average punt return yards (38.3) and ranked seventh in all-purpose yards (260).

The Pioneers return home this Saturday to face nationally-ranked No. 18 Ohio Northern at noon at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
