UTICA, NY- Junior Goalie Samantha Whitehouse of the Utica College field hockey team has been a named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for her efforts over the weekend.

Whitehouse tallied 12 saves in two games for the Pioneers, helping them split the weekend, 1-1. Her 144 saves this season ranks second in the college’s single-season record book. Whitehouse also has four career shutouts, which ranks fifth all-time in program history.

The team is now 4-11 on the year with just three games remaining in the regular season. SUNY Geneseo and Elmira College will travel to Utica to take on the Pioneers this week before the regular season finale at the University of Rochester on October 30^th.
