Junior infielder Adam Nell of the Utica College baseball team has been selected as the College’s Co-Male Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Pioneer’s five games last week.

Overall, Nell batted .421 last week and drove in six runs while scoring six runs himself. Saturday, Nell hit a home run against Stevens and then followed that up on Saturday by going 5-8 in a double header the next day against the Ducks driving in two runs and scoring three times.

On the season, Nell is one of only seven players on the team who is hitting above .300 (.310). He is in the top five on the team in RBI’s driving in 14 batters on the season and is second on the team with two home runs. Nell has a great eye at the plate, leading the team with 11 walks on the season.

The team returns to action on Wednesday for a home double header against SUNY Poly. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
