Utica University Athletics

Julian Fonseca of the Utica College men's soccer team has been chosen as the UC Male Athlete of the Week for his performances during opening weekend. 

The Pioneers played two games over the weekend, with Fonseca playing a role in all three of the team's scoring plays.The senior drew two penalty kick opportunities in two games, making good on both chances to score. He also set up teammate Patrick Hynes against D'Youville, earning an assist as well. Julian ended the weekend with two goals and one assist to total five points early in the year, to push UC to a 1-1 record.

Fonseca and the crew will be back in action on Wednesday, as they travel to face Clarkson University starting at 6 p.m.
