Utica, NY – Michalyn Winkler of the Utica College women’s water polo team has been named the UC Female Athlete of the Week of her work in net for the Pioneers.
 
Winkler, the senior goalie, made 23 saves in the team’s opening game loss at the CWPA Championships to Carthage. Her saves total has now officially passed Ali Templin ’15 in the record books, making Michalyn the program’s all-time leader in saves for a career.
 
The Pioneers went 1-2 at the CWPA DIII Championships, falling to Carthage and Connecticut before taking down Washington and Jefferson College to wrap up the season.
