Utica, NY - Sophomore forward Sydney Przygoda of the Utica College women's basketball team has been named UC Female Athlete of the Week for her performances against SUNY Oneonta and MCLA.
Przygoda posted game-highs in both points (28) and rebounds (14) against MCLA, powering UC to its fourth win of the season by a score of 80-54. The third quarter proved to be the difference-maker in this contest, as the Pioneers outscored the Trail Blazers 30-15 to take a convincing 66-38 advantage that MCLA could not overcome. Przygoda led this scoring wave, netting 14 points and seven rebounds in the third quarter alone. This game marked Przygoda's second double-double of the season.
Earlier in the week against SUNY Oneonta, Przygoda finished just one rebound short of another double-double, as she culminated the night with 21 points and a game-high nine rebounds.
The Utica College women's basketball team will return to action Tuesday night in a non-conference road matchup against SUNY Delhi at 4 p.m.
