Utica, NY - Freshman Carolyn Whitney of the Utica College women's hockey team has been named UC Female Athlete of the Week for her performances this past weekend against Alvernia and Stevenson.

Whitney posted one goal and one assist in a 3-0 win over Alvernia on Saturday and added two assists in a 4-4 tie against Stevenson on Sunday afternoon. The four-point weekend boosts Whitney up to being the second-leading scorer on the team with 11 points on six goals and five assists. Erica Sloan and Georgiana Santullo are currently tied for first with 13 points each.

The Pioneers return to action for their Gold Ribbon Game this Wednesday against Nazareth College at 7 p.m. at the Adirondack Bank Center.
