Pioneer Field
Located on the northeast end of Utica University’s campus, Pioneer Field is home to the Pioneers’ baseball program. Situated beside Charles A. Gaetano Stadium and behind the Clark Athletic Center, the field measures 330 feet down both foul lines and 400 feet to center field.
The complex includes home and visiting bullpens, two regulation outdoor batting cages alongside the home bullpen and a turf area for stretching and warmups. A sports information booth supports game management.
A series of improvements enhanced the facility in 2013 and 2014. A scoreboard was installed in spring 2013, followed by renovations to both bullpens that summer. The entire outfield fence was replaced in summer 2014, and the sports information booth and batting cages were added that fall.
Additional improvements have included reconstruction of the infield and game pitching mound, replacement of the outfield drainage system and installation of the turf warmup area beyond the home bullpen.
