Utica, N.Y. 10/27/2010 – The Utica College men's soccer team (12-4-1, 3-2-1 Empire 8) is set to travel to Nationally-ranked No. 3 Stevens Institute of Technology (10-1-3, 5-0-1 Empire 8) this Saturday for a chance to clinch its third  conference playoff berth in four years.
The Pioneers are riding the highs of a four-game win streak coming into the final game of the season. Most recently they defeated St. John Fisher 3-0. Junior 
Jonathan Wood (Derry, NH/Pinkerton) led Utica with two goals in the game, while freshman goalie 
Anthony Caruso (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) recorded his 11th win of the season.
Senior 
Roberto Sgueglia (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) currently ranks third in the nation in both total points (36) and total assists (12). Utica is ranked second in the nation in total goals with 54, and scoring offense averaging 3.18 goals/assists per game.
There are a few different playoff scenarios for Utica to get into the conference tournament:
- Utica is the fourth seed with an RIT loss against Nazareth. 
- Utica is the third seed with a win over Stevens AND Elmira loss vs. Ithaca
- Utica is the fourth seed with a win over Stevens AND an Elmira win/tie vs. Ithaca 
- Utica is out with a loss vs. Stevens AND a RIT win vs. Nazareth
