WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO LOCAL RIVAL HAMILTON

The Utica College women's soccer team lost to local rival Hamilton College 5-0 in non conference play Saturday afternoon. Freshman goalie Jocelyn Rivera (Yonkers, NY /Gorton) made a career-high 13 saves in net as the Pioneers dropped to 1-3 overall on the year.

Hamilton's Anne Gravely tallied one goal and three assists, while Alex Rimmer and Laura Wray each recorded two goals to improve the Continentals record to 2-0-1 on the year.

Junior Lindsey Valentine (West Winfield, NY/Cooperstown) came off the bench and recorded two shots for UC, while Emily Young (Lowville, NY/Lowville) and freshman Alyssa Upson (Frankfort, NY/Whitesboro) each totaled one shot a piece.

Utica returns to the pitch at home on Wednesday when the Pioneers host Empire 8 Conference rival Ithaca College at 4 p.m. The contest will be played at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
