Marcy, N.Y. (9/4/2010) - The Utica College volleyball team lost both ends of a double header against host SUNYIT Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers battled in the first match but lost in three games by the scores of 25-10, 25-20 and 25-17. UC also fell short in the second match in three games.
Heather Jackson (Weare, NH/John Stark Regional) and
Aundrea Dorie (Mount Markham, NY /Mount Markham) led the way for Utica with six kills apiece over the course of two games.
Chelsie Petras (Ilion, NY /Dolgeville) totaled 12 assists on the day.
Utica (0-2) returns to action at Cazenovia Wednesday in search of its first victory of the season. The contest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Alicia Andrianos (Memphis, NY/Jordan Elbridge) totaled five kills on the day against the Wildcats, while Stephaie Dew added three of her own. Audrey Cross registered two kills and
Liz Sacco (Franklin, Mass. /Franklin) and
Kristen Schultheiss (Commack, NY /Commack) each added one kill apiece.
Dorie and Dew each totaled three blocks for the Pioneers. Jackson recorded a team-best four service aces.
