Utica, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team hosted Alfred University on Friday for an Empire 8 conference match. The Saxons earned the road win, 7-2.
Although the Pioneers were not able to score a match point from doubles play, two individuals were able to steal a point during singles action.
In the fourth singles slot,
Ethan Trembley (Schenectady, NY/La Salle Institute) won in two sets 6-3, 6-4. The freshman has now won two singles matches in a row.
Tyler Pietrowski (Curtice, OH/Odessa Jackalopes (NAHL)) also scored a match point for UC, winning the tiebreaker set as well after splitting the first two sets in sixth singles.
The Pioneers are back at home Saturday for a 12 pm start against E8 foe, Stevens.
