Paul Litvak (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) and
Ethan Trembley (Schenectady, NY/La Salle Institute) kicked the afternoon off with a second doubles victory (8-2), while
Austin McGrain (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford) and
Matt Zbytniewski (Newport, NY/West Canada Valley) added second and fifth singles wins, but it was not enough as visiting Elmira College took home a 6-3 win in Empire 8 Conference men's tennis action on Saturday afternoon.
Litvak and Trembley dominated second doubles with an 8-2 victory to improve their record to 2-3 as a combo in dual matches this Spring.
Austin McGrain (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford) was impressive once again at second singles as he earned a 6-2, 6-2 win, marking his third consecutive victory in the second slot.
Zbytniewski won a nail biter 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 against Elmira's Ravi Chauma at fifth singles to account for the Pioneers third and final team point. Zbytniewski has now won three of his last four singles matches for the Pioneers.

Elmira's Stephen Gervase and Zack Stedge topped UC's
LJ Nuzzo (Peru, NY/Peru Central) and
Austin McGrain (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford) 8-5 at first doubles.
Utica's record dropped to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in Empire 8 play. The Pioneers return home for their fifth straight home match on Tuesday when they host The Sage Colleges in Empire 8 play at 3:30 p.m.
