UTICA, NY - The Utica University tennis team collected a huge Empire 8 victory beating Russell Sage College 5-4 on Saturday afternoon to keep its Empire 8 Postseason hopes alive.
Lyndsey Tiedemann (Salt Point, NY/Franklin D Roosevelt) and
Callie Ott (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) turned in massive performances, each winning their doubles and singles matches.

The Pioneers did well winning two of its three doubles matches as
Ellen Lyga (New Hartford, NY/Notre Dame) and
Isabella Bonapace (Leonia, NJ/Leonia) won their match 8-6 while
Lyndsey Tiedemann (Salt Point, NY/Franklin D Roosevelt) and
Callie Ott (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) dominated winning 8-1.

In singles, Utica took three of five matches to secure the win this afternoon.
Selma Dizdarevic (Utica, NY/Proctor) won her match 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 and has been playing well down the stretch. Tiedemann and Ott continued their dominant afternoon with the former winning 6-0, 6-3 and the latter 6-1, 6-2.

Utica (3-5, 2-3 Empire 8) will continue its Empire 8 play and host Hartwick College on Sunday, October 8 at 1 p.m.
