ROCHESTER, NY - Twenty-six members of the Utica University track and field program have been selected to Empire 8 All-Conference teams, as announced by the conference on Monday morning. 18 men and eight women earned Empire 8 All-Conference honors after their impressive seasons.
 
Zuriel Wright (Parlin, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial) was named Empire 8 Field Athlete of the Year after his career season. Wright and Mackenzie Mix competed at the NCAA Championships and both had terrific seasons in their respective events. First Team selections include Andy Hadasz (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) (200m), Zuriel Wright (Parlin, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial) (high jump), Hunter Logan (Fort Plain, NY/Herkimer College) (shot put), Antwan Kelly (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) (weight throw), Mackenzie Mix (200m), Laura Meade (triple jump, pentathlon), and Jane Fahy (shot put). 
 
Second team selections include Nolan Flynn (Bethel, CT/Bethel) (60m), the men's 4x400m relay team (Nolan Flynn (Bethel, CT/Bethel), Dion Putaski (Vernon, NY/Vernon-Verona Sherrill), Ethan Kain (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford), Andy Hadasz (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro)), the men's distance medley relay team (Hayden Lohmann (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham), Ethan Kain (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford), Tobias Jeralds (Chatham, NY/Chatham), Anthony Leotta (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollows Hills West)), Zuriel Wright (Parlin, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial) (long jump), Billie Mays III (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) (shot put), Andrew Wieder (Clinton, NY/Clinton) (heptathlon), Laura Meade (60mH), Mackenzie Mix (400m), and Gabrielle DeSanctis (weight throw).
 
Third team selections include Andy Hadasz (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) (60m), Anthony Leotta (Dix Hills, NY/Half Hollows Hills West) (mile), Jack Rathburn () (pole vault), Dion Putaski (Vernon, NY/Vernon-Verona Sherrill) (long jump), Zuriel Wright (Parlin, NJ/Sayreville War Memorial) (triple jump), and Justin Swavely (Rome, NY/RFA) (weight throw).
 
Shane Tinney (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany) was named Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year and Gabrielle DeSanctis was named Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen/sportswomen.
