ROCHESTER, NY - Jennifer Rodriguez (Sylmar, CA/John F. Kennedy) of the Utica University softball team has been named Empire 8 Player of the Week as announced by the league on Monday.
 
Rodriguez has had a phenomenal start to her Pioneer career as she is currently in the midst of a nine-game hitting streak and has had multiple hits in seven of those games. Over the past week she has been batting a ridiculous .516 (16-for-31) with one homerun, three doubles, and five RBIs while scoring eight runs including at least one run in seven of eight games.  
 
Rodriguez and the softball team will be back in action on the road against the University of Scranton on Wednesday, March 20 with game one set for 3 p.m. and game two scheduled for 5 p.m.
