ROCHESTER, NY - Emily Joss (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) of the Utica University softball team has been named the Empire 8 Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday. 
 
Joss had at least one hit in each of Utica's seven games this past week to help lead the team to a 5-2 record. In all she went 13-for-21 with three doubles, one home run, six walks, six RBIs and just one strikeout. Over her seven games, Joss put together five multi-hit performances including a 3-for-4 outing in game two against Houghton last Tuesday.  Prior to her three hits in game two, Joss had two hits in game one before following that up with two hits in both games against Keuka on Thursday. 
 
Joss and the Pioneers are set to conclude their regular season this weekend at St. John Fisher University. Game one of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m.
