UTICA, NY - The Utica university women's tennis team fell short in Empire 8 Conference play this afternoon, falling to Nazareth University by a score of 9-0.
In second doubles play, the duo of
Callie Ott (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and
Lyndsey Tiedemann (Salt Point, NY/Franklin D Roosevelt) took their match to a tie break after a 7-7 score, ultimately falling to the Nazareth duo of Sarah Stone and Ali Klee 7-3. In first doubles, the duo of
Paetra Heeren (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) and
Kimora-Lee Simmons (Utica, NY/Thomas R. Proctor) put forth a valiant effort despite falling in their match 8-3.
Utica (0-4, 0-3 Empire 8) will hit the road next week to take on the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons in a non-conference matchup. Start time in Oneonta, NY is slated for 3:30pm.
