ITHACA, NY - The Utica University men's track and field team completed day two of the AARTFC Regional Championship on Saturday evening.
In the 400m, Tanner Warren (Mohawk, NY/Central Valley Academy) continued his dominance clocking in a time of 49.65 to finish inside the top-ten in the event.Â
In the weight throw, the trio of Spencer Borghardt (Melville, NY/St.Anthony's), Blake Gannon (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen), and Joshua Talbot (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) each recorded standout performances. Borghardt took home fifth place with a 17.10m toss to take home fifth place. Gannon nailed a 15.73m toss to fall just outside of the top ten, while Talbot recorded a 14.85m toss.Â
In the 200m, Warren and Nolan Flynn (Bethel, CT/Bethel) each clocked in sub 23 second times with Warren clocking in at 22.45 while Flynn clocked in at 22.48.Â
In the 3000m, Bennett Melita (Johnstown, NY/Fonda Fultonville) placed seventh with a time of 8:36.40​
In the 4x200m relay, the team of Shane Tinney (Whitesboro, NY/Oriskany), Harley Hugunine (Oneida, NY/Vernon-Verona-Sherrill), Cade Tavares (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott), and Shane Wallace (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) clocked in at 1:34.98.Â
Qualified athletes will now take on the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on March 14th and 15th, hosted by Nazareth University.Â
