TROY, NY - The Utica University men's outdoor track & field team showed out at the RPI Capital District Classic, placing third overall out of 10 teams.
Ellis Urgent (Cornwall, NY/Cornwall Central),
Hunter Logan (Fort Plain, NY/Herkimer College) and
Spencer Borghardt (Melville, NY/St.Anthony's) each placed first overall in their respective events. Urgent is now ranked No. 17 nationally in long jump and Logan is No. 16 nationally in shot put.

Spencer Borghardt (Melville, NY/St.Anthony's) placed first overall in hammer throw with a 55.76m throw.
Joshua Talbot (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) placed third with a 53.80m throw and
Blake Gannon (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) took fifth (52.10m). Gannon's mark was best for fourth all-time in program history and Borghardt's throw was good for second all-time.Â

Ellis Urgent (Cornwall, NY/Cornwall Central) stamped a first-place finish and personal best in long jump with a 7.19m leap.
Kedron Golden (Atlanta, GA/Community Christian) placed third and jumped 6.60m.Â

Hunter Logan (Fort Plain, NY/Herkimer College) had a season-best finish, placing first in shot put with a 16.30m throw.Â

Tanner Warren (Mohawk, NY/Central Valley Academy) placed second in the 400m and ran a 48.52, which is best for second all-time.
Tristan Vargo (East Aurora, NY/Orchard Park) placed eighth (50.42). His mark was good for eighth in program history.Â

Bennett Melita (Johnstown, NY/Fonda Fultonville) is now third all-time in the 1500m, stamping a 3:57.66.

In the 100m,
Chris Ganley (Pine Bush, NY/Pine Bush) placed fourth, marking an 11.00, making him seventh all-time in program history.

In the 1500m,
Tobias Jeralds (Canaan, NY/Chatham Central) placed fifth overall, clocking a 4:05.95. His mark was best for seventh all-time.

In the 800m,
Forest Martin (Poland, NY/Poland Central) marked a seventh all-time finish, running a 1:57.87. Tobias also ran the 800m and is now 12th all-time after he ran a 1:59.47.

The team readies for the Empire 8 Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 2 at 3 p.m. and Saturday, May 3 at 11 a.m. SUNY Brockport will be hosting.Â
