ROCHESTER, NY - Eric Vitale (Toronto, Ontario) returned to form this past weekend, getting back into a groove thanks to a couple of outstanding performances against Elmira College. His contributions helped the Pioneers continue their UCHC unbeaten streak, and also saw him receive conference recognition as the Co-Empire 8 Player of the Week. This is Vitale's first conference honor of the season.

Vitale returned to his scoring ways this past weekend, slotting away three goals and grabbing an assist during a 2-0 weekend where the Pioneers kept up their recent winning streak. Vitale would have a pair of two-point nights in each win, getting a goal and an assist in Friday's 6-4 road victory, before continuing his stellar run on the Nexus Center ice, with two goals on Saturday in a 5-2 win to sweep the series. Last year's NCAA Division III All-Tournament Team representative ended Friday's win with a ridiculous full-ice empty netter, before grabbing the opening goal of Saturday's matchup. He was a +3 on the weekend, as his line saw major success in both matchups. He now has 12 goals, nine assists, and 21 points on the season, ranking fourth among his teammates. 

Vitale and the men's hockey team are set for a seismic series this coming weekend, facing off against rival SUNY Geneseo in a home-and-home. The Pioneers will welcome the Ice Knights to town on Friday night, before heading out to the Genesee Valley the following night. Both games are set for 7:00 PM. The Pioneers need just one victory in either game this weekend to clinch their ninth consecutive UCHC regular season title, and 10th straight conference regular season title.
