UTICA, NY – The Utica University women's tennis team continued its 2026 season on Friday afternoon, hosting Oswego at the Utica Tennis Courts for the final non-conference clash of the campaign. The Lakers would go on to earn a 7-0 victory over the Pioneers.
Oswego opened the match by taking all three doubles contests. Lyndsey Tiedemann (Salt Point, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) and Averi Kraeger (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) competed at No. 1 doubles, while Andrea May (McGraw, NY/McGraw) and Saige Burton (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango) teamed up at No. 2. Kendra Conte (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville) and Kierstyn Ford (Mexico, NY/Mexico Academy) rounded out Utica's doubles lineup at No. 3.
In singles action, Tiedemann, Kraeger, May, Burton, Eh Nay Than (Utica, NY/Thomas R. Proctor), and Aubrie Morris (Baldwinsville, NY/Baldwinsville) represented the Pioneers. May battled throughout her No. 3 singles match, earning three games in the opening set before Oswego's Aubrey Salati secured the 6-3, 6-0 victory. Burton also continued to compete in the second set at No. 4 singles, picking up three games against Emery O'Brien.
The Pioneers will look to build on their continued efforts and battle back in their upcoming matches as the season progresses.
