Utica University Athletics

Chris Parkinson is entering his third season as graduate assistant for the Utica College baseball team. 

Parkinson is a longtime youth baseball instructor specializing in hitting and infield work.  He was an instructor at Field of Dreams Sports Complex from 2003-2007 and has run several high school and college clinics in New York and Rhode Island.

Parkinson attended the University of Rhode Island and played baseball all four years.  He played in 20 games in his sophomore season and remained a starter through his senior year.  Parkinson hit two homeruns while playing for the Rams and finished with a career batting average of .257. He graduated in 2008 with a B.S. in kinesiology/exercise science.

In 2004 Parkinson graduated from Proctor High School in Utica, NY.  While attending Proctor, Parkinson lettered in baseball and earned Tri-Valley League and Oneida County All-Star honors.  He also helped lead the Raiders to Oneida County and District Five titles. Parkinson played American Legion ball for Adrean Post where he led the team in hitting for three consecutive seasons, including a .525 batting average in the summer of 2002.  He was born and raised in the Utica area and currently resides in Whitestown, NY.
