Amanda Barton

Amanda Barton was hired in the summer of 2011 as the assistant coach of the Utica College field hockey program. Barton will assist Head Coach Sarah Bergmann with all facets of the program including recruiting, scouting, practice and game preparation.

Barton comes to Utica after graduating from Hartwick College in the Spring of 2011. While at Hartwick she played all four years for the Hawks' field hockey program. Barton garnered several prestigious awards during her playing days and in 2010 her career culminated with a third straight National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region selection. She was also a three-time Empire 8 All-Conference First Team selection at the midfield position for the Hawks. She started all four years and played in 71-of-72 games on her way to scoring 30 career points. In her senior campaign she led the team in assists and capped her decorated career with a game-winning goal against conference foe Ithaca College.

For her accomplishments, Barton earned an invitation to the NFHCA Division III Senior All-Star Game which was held in Newport News, VA. The game was played prior to the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship and featured 38 of the top players from around the country. Barton was one of only two Empire 8 players selected to the senior all-star game.

Throughout her career she collected four straight NFHCA National Academic Team distinctions for accumulating a grade point average of 3.30 or higher.

Originally from Endwell, N.Y., she was a 2006 graduate of Greene High School where she was an All-State field hockey player.
