Mike Zegarelli

Mike Zegarelli began coaching at Utica College in 2001 and currently works with the program's corners and safeties.

Zegarelli began his coaching career in 1982 and has coached football, wrestling and softball in some capacity ever since.  He coached high school football in the Utica area from 1982-2000.  During that span he also took on high school wrestling (1988-1992) and softball (1995-2000) coaching duties.  He also spent 35 years as a Special Education Teacher in the Utica City School District.

He is a 1977 graduate of The University of Findlay in Findlay, OH.  He played three years of varsity football for the Oilers under legendary Hall of Fame coach Dick Strahm.  In 1979, just two years after Zegarelli graduated from Findlay, the Oilers won the NAIA Division II National Championship after posting a 10-1-1 record. 

Zegarelli graduated from Utica Free Academy in 1973 where he was a member of the football and track teams. 

In 1993, Coach Zegarelli graduated from the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY with a Master's Degree in Special Education.

Mike was born in Minster, OH and currently resides in Utica, NY.  He has one son, Michael.
