Nicholas Miller

Nicholas Miller was hired in January 2020 as an assistant track and field and cross country coach. He will assist coaches James Lemieux and Sam Catterson with all facets of the programs, including day-to-day operations, scouting, recruiting, as well as meet and practice preparation.

Miller was an outstanding Division I distance athlete at Loyola University-Chicago. He was a second-team All-Horizon League selection in cross country in 2012. His best performances on the track included a 30:51 at ten kilometers, 14:51 at five kilometers indoors, and 8:34 at three kilometers. He received a dual degree at Loyola in English and Secondary Education.

In his coaching career, Miller has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Malcolm X College in his hometown of Chicago. The two year institution is a member of the Chicago City Colleges system, and is also a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association. He coached a total of four national qualifiers.

The new addition to the Utica staff has also spent time working as an educator in the Chicago Public School system.

Miller now resides in Utica, and is pursuing his Master’s degree in Leadership and Instruction for Inclusive Classrooms at UC.
