Jim Ironside, from Oneida, New York, was hired in September 2025 as the head coach of Utica's men's and women's golf teams. Ironside completed his Bachelor's in 2008 before entering roles as a Golf Professional for several Central New York clubs.

Ironside graduated from Oneida High School in 2004 before completing a Professional Golf Management degree at SUNY Delhi in 2008. The following year, Coach Ironside secured his first golf job with Teugega Country Club, serving as an Assistant Golf Professional. In 2010, he began a three-year tenure with Kanon Valley Country Club in the same role, earning his PGA Membership in his final year with the club. After attaining his membership, Ironside has held three roles as a PGA Golf Professional, working at Alburg Golf Links from 2014-16, Sadaquada Golf Course in 2017 and 2018, and most recently has served as a PGA Senior Assistant Golf Professional at Yahnundasis Golf Club since 2020. In 2019 he worked as the New York Interim Tournament Director.

In 2006, Coach Ironside was named the SUNY Delhi Professional Golf Management Player of the Year. Coach has also earned recognition as a professional, being named the Central New York PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year in both 2012 and 2020, as well as being a member of several Amateur teams for New York State. In 2019, Ironside was additionally given the Horton Smith Award, which has since been renamed to the PGA Professional Development Award, an honor that recognizes a PGA member's contributions to education.
