Ryan Serp

    Athletic Assistant - Track & Field/XC
Ryan Serp joined the Utica University track and field/cross country program during the 2025-2026 winter break, taking up the role of athletic assistant during the middle of the indoor season. As athletic assistant, Serp assists with the management of the team's roster, making sure that practices are organized and that athletes are continuing to perform at a high level. 

Originally from Commack, New York, Serp joined the Pioneers following a stint as an assistant coach for the Onondaga Community College track and field team (August 2023-August 2024). Prior to his coaching career with the Lazers, Serp wrapped up an extremely successful athletic career at SUNY Cortland (Class of 2023), where he was a SUNYAC Champion in the Decathlon during the 2023 season. Serp also finished as a regional runner-up in the heptathlon during that same campaign. The SUNY Cortland Communication and Media Studies graduate was also heavily involved in various campus organizations after receiving his degree, serving as a Lynne Parks '68 SUNY Cortland Alumni House Event Assistant from June 2023 to December 2024, and with SUNY Cortland Alumni Engagement from June 2023 to October 2024. 

Serp is a 2019 graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, where he also took home the 2019 Section III 55m Hurdles Championship.Â
