Utica University Athletics

UTICA, NY (12/12/11)- Freshman Lauren DeLude (Herkimer, NY/Herkimer) of the Utica College women’s track & field team was named the College’s Female Athlete of the Week, Monday. 

DeLude placed first in the long jump with a distance of 5.17 meters at the Holiday Relays at St. Lawrence University, Saturday.  She was the only female competitor to post a jump of 5.0 meters or better.  She also won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.34 and was a member of the Pioneer 4x400 meter relay team that earned a first place finish with a time of 4:20. 27.  Delude helped earn 30 of the Pioneers’ 52 points at the event. 

UC will return to action after the semester break when the Pioneers travel to Rochester to participate in the RIT Invitational at Gordon Field House.  The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
